Christoffer Johansen
Christoffer Johansen received his M.D. in 1986, his Ph.D in 1994 and his Dr.Med.Sci. in 2004.
Since 2001 Dr Johansen has been the Head of the Department of Psychosocial Cancer Research at the Danish Institute of Cancer Epidemiology.
The department conducts research using epidemiological methods, clinical trials and anthropological investigations.
The department currently consists of 20 academics representing medicine, psychology, theology, public health and anthropology.
Dr Johansen has been a member for 5 years in the National Strategic Research Council in Denmark.
He is currently a member of the Swedish Cancerfonden and serves as co-editor of the Scandinavian cancer journal, Acta Oncologica.
He is on the Editorial Board of European Journal of Cancer and PsychoOncology.
He is the first professor in cancer rehabilitation research inaugurated 2 February 2010.
He has published widely in the international peer reviewed literature and by the end of 2009 had 190 papers abstracted on Medline.
The research conducted by Dr. Johansen includes the hypothesis of an association between mind and cancer both as a risk factor and as a prognostic factor as well as various issues within psychosocial intervention and cancer rehabilitation.
